Florida State recruiting: Early Signing Period updates for FSU football
The majority of Florida State's 2021 recruiting class is set to solidify their pledges by signing with the Seminoles this week.
The Early Signing Period begins this morning at 7 a.m. and goes through Friday. Over that time, high school football players can submit their official letters of intent, locking in where they intend to play college football.
It's been a bizarre year in recruiting with all in-person recruiting shut down since March and until at least next April due to the coronavirus pandemic. This has had an effect on FSU coach Mike Norvell and his staff's ability to assemble a class that meets FSU's usual standard.
FSU enters the Early Signing Period with 15 commits in a class that ranks 34th nationally and eighth in the ACC per the 247Sports composite class rankings.
Of those 15 commits, 14 are expected to sign over the next three days. Only three-star guard Kimo Makaneole currently plans to wait until February's National Signing Day to sign.
FSU is also in contention to pad its class with a few potential additions over the next three days.
