Mr. Bryce Etheridge performed sobering rendition of the “Old Ragged Flag” and received a standing ovation from all in attendance. The guest speaker was Second Lieutenant Chris Steverson, Air Force Officer and Holmes County High School Teacher, who spoke about his initial enlistment and the many places he was stationed, such as; Shaw Air Force Base, Osan Air Base, Korea, and Balad, Iraq. Second Lieutenant Steverson shared a very soul touching story about his friend, Daniel Swaney, explaining why he decided to become a Chaplain. He ended his speech with this quote “Do not seek to leave a legacy of how great your life was, leave one based upon how great you made other people’s lives”.
