Landmark Park to host Fall Farm Day

DOTHAN, ALABAMA - Landmark Park will host their annual Fall Farm Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, October 17. Come watch how peanuts were harvested in the Wiregrass nearly 100 years ago. Enjoy the sights, sounds and sweet smells of cane grinding, syrup making, butter churning, soap making and other traditional farm activities. Other activities include music, antique tractors, wagon rides and the largest quilt display in the Wiregrass region. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and military, $4 for kids and members and children under 2 years of age are free. Masks are required indoors, and outdoors in groups of 10 or more. Disposable masks are available for purchase in the Gift Shop and Martin Drugstore. Landmark Park to hold quilt show

DOTHAN, ALABAMA - Landmark Park will hold their annual Quilt show from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, October 16, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, October 17 and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, October 18. This years theme is “100 Years of Women's Progress”. The annual Quilt Show is held in conjunction the parks annual Fall Farm Day. The show will feature over 100 antique and contemporary quilts displayed inside the Stokes Activity Barn. This juried show includes door prizes, speakers and more.Masks are required indoors, and outdoors in groups of 10 or more. Disposable masks are available for purchase in the Gift Shop and Martin Drugstore. ARK of OZ Church to hold special services

OZARK, ALABAMA - The ARK of OZ Church, located at 4071 US Highway 231, 5 miles north of Ozark,  Alabama, will have a special Sunday Morning Worship Service at 11 a.m., Sunday, October 18th, featuring a concert by The Babbs from Bellvue, Ohio.  A recognition of Sister Ganns birthday will be included. Holmes Baptist to celebrate Family and Friends Day

ARITON, ALABAMA - Holmes Baptist Church, located at 4671 Highway 51, 3 miles north of Ariton, AL, will celebrate  Family & Friends Day, at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, October 18.  A Pastor's Appreciation recognition will also be included.  Dinner will follow in the Fellowship Hall.   Everyone is invited.

PPLCS to hold meeting

Chipley Woman’s Club to hold annual yard sale

CHIPLEY - The Chipley Woman’s Club will hold their Annual Fall Yard Sale on from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Friday, October 23, and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Saturday, October 24. The Club’s Sale will be inside their clubhouse located at 607 North 5th Street. There will be furniture, toys, holiday decorations, tools, appliances, electronics, dishes, linens, books, clothes, jewelry, purses, shoes, and lots more. Downtown Scarecrow Building Contest

CHIPLEY - The Washington County Historical Society and the Chipley Garden Club are hosting a Downtown Scarecrow Building Contest through Sunday, October 25. You can enter by building a scarecrow or two, display it (or them) in front of your home or business during the month of October and text your address to 850-4049 so the entry can be located. There is no entry fee. Winners will be announced on Saturday, October 31. The first prize home and business will each receive $150. This contest is for those in the downtown area.

Chipley to host annual Trunk or Treat event

CHIPLEY - Chipley's annual Trunk or Treat event will be held from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, October 24, at Pal's Park, weather permitting. This is a family event where community sponsors come together to provide children 12 and under with a fun and safe trick or treating experience. Pal's Park is located at 1544 North Railroad Ave in Chipley.

Gap Pond to hold Cemetery Workday

SUNNY HILLS - The Gap Pond Cemetery workday will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, October 24. The cemetery is located at 1980 Gap Boulevard east of Sunny Hills proper. All descendants of people buried there, genealogists and all interested in preserving Washington County history are invited to participate. Work will involve mowing, weeding, pressure washing, cutting tree limbs and brush, clearing and maintaining grave sites. Those working should bring their own tools and refreshments. Landmark Park to host Low County Boil

DOTHAN, ALABAMA - Landmark Park will host a Low Country Boil Thursday, October 29. This years event will be pickup only this year. Plates may be picked up between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Enjoy a meal of shrimp, sausage, corn and potatoes. Special considerations will be taken this year for maximum safety. The cost of this years boil is $30 per ticket, includes 2 servings of Low Country Boil and two drinks (choose from beer, wine, soda or water) Advance tickets are required and must be purchased by Thursday, October 22. Wausau to hold Fall Festival

WAUSAU - The Town of Wausau will hold a Fall Festival from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday October 31 at the Possum Palace. The event is sponsored by the Wausau Community Development Club.

WCCOA to host 5K Fun Run

CHIPLEY - The Washington County Council on Aging will host a 5K Fun Run at 7 a.m. Saturday, November 7 in conjunction with Festival on the Boulevard. If registered by Saturday, October 17 the cost is $25, if you register after this date the cost is $30. This is not a timed event, there will be no time clock. All proceeds will help to continue the support and mission of caring for the seniors of Washington County. For more information call 850-638-6216.

WCCOA to host Festival on the Boulevard 

CHIPLEY - The Washington County Council on Aging will host Festival on the Boulevard from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, November 7. Festivities will begin at 7 a.m. with a 5K Fun RUn. There will be food vendors, entertainment and vendors selling yard decor door hangers, wreaths, woodwork,, homemade jelly, jewelry, Color Street and more. DOTHAN, ALABAMA - Landmark Park will host a Decorating Workshop at 1 p.m. Sunday, December 6. Create holiday decorations to help decorate the park and take home. Natural materials will be used. Victorian Christmas

DOTHAN, ALABAMA - Landmark Park will host their annual Victorian Christmas from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, December 13. There will be a Holiday open house with Christmas music, hot chocolate, a visit with Santa and more. Admission is free, canned goods will be collected for the Food Bank. Mask are required when indoors and when in large groups in close quarters outdoors.
