HCHS Raiders Team Excel
BONIFAY - Eighteen Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) Cadets of Holmes County High School were participants in the first Raiders event of the SY 2020-21 on September 26.
At approximately 0700, on a casual Saturday morning, Cadets arrived at the high school for roll call. The Cadets eagerly waited to load the bus and travel the 18 minutes to Vernon, Florida. These 18 Cadets, prior to the Raiders competition, held several practices during the first five weeks school. Each Raider or Raiderette completed a course of five complex activities. These exercises include a one-mile run, Cross-country Recovery (CCR), obstacle course, kettle-bell relay, and a rope bridge. Working in teams of two, each cadet performed the assigned task diligently. The obstacle course has an assortment of mini-tasks: an army crawl, carrying a kayak, and an Ammo can carry. This Raiders event was similar to a preseason game. Cadets received the knowledge and training fundamental to the Raiders Season. As a member of the Raiders Team you are taught to lead with strength, ambition, and integrity.
