SPRINGFIELD — The Willamette Valley Titans banged out 18 hits in sweeping an American Legion baseball doubleheader from the Klamath Falls Falcons on Friday, winning 10-7 and 7-1.
Tristan Vidal and Bryce Boettcher each went 2-for-4 in the opener with an RBI apiece to lead the Titans' 10-hit attack.
In the nightcap, Kaden Miller went all seven innings on the mound for Willamette Valley, striking out seven and walking two while allowing six hits.
Chase Elliott and Vidal each went 2-for-4 in the Titans' eight-hit attack.
Challengers swept by Doc Stewarts
ROSEBURG — The Eugene Challengers were swept 11-7 and 11-10 in an American Legion baseball doubleheader by Roseburg Doc Stewarts on Friday.
The Challengers (14-12, 2-4) gave up 11 runs in the first inning of the opener. Mason Crowson was 3-for-4 with a double and Cole Wilkinson was 2-for-4 with a double for Eugene.
In the nightcap, Cal Morgan was 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs for the Challengers, and Trent Keeler was 3-for-5.
