CHIPLEY AND BONIFAY - Holmes and Washington County Health Department have announced additional cases of 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19).


In Washington County, two individuals have tested positive. One individual is a 59-year-old female and the other individual is a 54-year-old female. In Holmes County, two individuals also tested positive; a 32-year-old female and a 63-year-old female. All individuals are under investigation.


This totals eight positive COVID-19 in each counties as of 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, according to the county’s health department.


If a person has had close contact with someone showing these symptoms who has recently traveled from this area or been in contact with a person with laboratory-confirmed COVID-19, they should call ahead to a health care professional and the county health department. The health care professional will work with the Department to determine if the person should be tested for COVID-19.
