CHIPLEY - Northwest Florida Community Hospital has implemented changes due the Coronavirus concerns. The hospital said the changes are based on recommendations by the Center for Disease Control and Florida Department of Health guidelines.
“These are trying times for everyone and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.” NWFH said. “We will continue to offer all patient services with no interruption in patient care. We will have to restrict access to our facility as a safety measure.”
The hospital said that until further notice, the entry for all patients will be the Patient Registration/ Emergency entrance. All person entering the facility will be screened for symptoms, and registered signing in and out when exiting.
“We take these measures for the protection of our patients, staff, and community.” the hospital said.
The hospital said they receive updates daily from CDC and Department of Health and make every effort to keep patients and community safe. They said for patients can check the NFCH Facebook for hospital updates.
Changes to the hospital include:
•Patient Visitation has been suspended indefinitely
•All persons, including staff, entering facility will be screened for symptoms and registered -signing in and out when exiting.
•NFCH will continue to offer all patient care procedures to the community such as Surgery, Radiology, Respiratory, Lab, ER, Wound Care, Cardiac Rehab, and Physical Therapy
•1 person may accompany a patient for treatment in emergency room or for a surgical procedure
•Upon patient admission, NFCH will provide a secure method of communication for family members to contact the hospital to inquire about their loved ones.
•NFCH Cafeteria is closed to the public
