VERNON - the town of Vernon has a rich diversity in it’s small town dating back to the 1800’s. Trouble is with it being so far of the beaten path many people forget about it’s rich culture and neat stories. But thanks to the efforts of the town’s historical society, visitors are able to take a tour of the historical museum and learn some interesting facts about the proud town and see some pretty interesting and historic artifacts housed in a historic building all its own.
Washington County News and Holmes County Times Editor K. William Boyer recently went on a tour of the museum, open every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Vernon City Hall, which itself is the former Vernon High School.
Check out some of snapshots of the historic artifacts housed in the museum that the town has collected over the years.
