The incident took place south of Okeechobee Boulevard early Wednesday.

A 15-year-old girl died Wednesday morning after being hit by a Palm Beach County School District bus just outside the West Palm Beach city limits, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.

Authorities did not identify the girl or the school she attended, though it did not appear she was getting on the school bus.

The crash happened at about 6:30 a.m. near the intersection of Haverhill and Elmhurst roads, a residential area south of Okeechobee Boulevard.

The sheriff’s office said the teenager was crossing the street as the bus turned. The driver reportedly never saw the teen.

The girl was taken to a hospital where she died.

Authorities are investigating who had the right-of-way at the time of the wreck.
