CHIPLEY - On Tuesday evening, Florida Highway Patrol responded to what was reported to a serious crash site on State Road 77 and I-10 in Washington County.
According ton FHWP, a 2005 Chevy Silverado, driven by Clint Walker of Chipley, collided with a 2006 Ford Escape driven by Terry Sullivan of Seffner, Fl and his passanger, Florence Jones of Brandon, FL.
Sullivan was traveling southbound in the outside lane and for an unknown reason came to a stop in the outside southbound lane of State Road 77, FHWP said. Walker was traveling southbound on State Road 77 in the outside lane when his Silverado front collided with the Ford’s rear.
“After initial impact Sullivan’s car began to travel in a southwesterly direction along the grass shoulder of the westbound on ramp and came to final rest on the grass shoulder of the westbound on ramp facing in a southwesterly direction,” The report said. “Walker’s truck came final rest on the paved shoulder of State Road 77 facing in a southerly direction.”
Sullivan was taken to Northwest Florida Community Hospital where he passed away from injuries. Jones was taken to Bay Medical Center with serious injuries the report said. Walker was treated for minor injuries.
FHWP said their will be further investigation into the crash.
