BONIFAY - A student at Holmes County High School has been charged with making threats to school officials and lewd and lascivious battery after "disturbing" video footage showed him committing the acts.
According to a news release from Holmes County Sheriff's Office, on Tuesday, the school resource deputy at HCHS responded to a report that 16-year-old Jose Cornejo had a gun in his backpack. The gun turned out to be a pellet gun that resembled a .45 caliber handgun, the release stated.
In one video, Cornejo is filmed as he made threats against a school official with the gun, and another shows him committing lewd acts on "a small child," officials said a follow-up to the release. The juvenile has been taken into custody.
The investigation is ongoing.
