BONIFAY – Twenty students from Bonifay K-8 were recognized for their accomplishments at state competition when the Holmes County School Board met in regular session Tuesday.

While 40 students went to state Beta Club competition, only 20 qualified to move on to nationals. Of those 20, five earned first place, three won second place and two earned third place in their divisions. National Beta Club competition will be held in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma this year.

In other business, a maintenance position that was previously advertised will be re-advertised with approval from the board due to an error is the title of the position. The position is one of Maintenance II, but was erroneously advertised as a Maintenance I position.

In other items, overnight and out of state trips were approved for the following: HCHS boys basketball team will be heading to Tallahassee, Bethlehem High Schools FBLA will also be going to Tallahassee and Ponce de Leon High School FFA will be traveling to Tampa.

Holmes County School Board will meet again in regular session at 6 p.m. on February 5.
