CHIPLEY - As the local Disaster Recovery Center soon closes, several deadlines are approaching for area residents impacted by Hurricane Michael.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency Disaster Recovery Center will close at close of business on Wednesday, a Washington County Emergency Operations Center news release stated. The DRC is located at the east wing of the Washington County Ag Center and is open Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Other deadlines for assistance are coming.
The deadline to apply for a loan with the Small Business Administration, which has approved $372.6 million in loans to homeowners and renters throughout the impacted area, is Monday, Dec. 10. There are SBA representatives at the DRC at the Washington County Ag Center.
Monday is also the deadline to apply for individual assistance, which has added $116.7 million in grants for individuals with housing assistance and other needs.
The deadline to apply for a request for public assistance and the Individual and Household Program is Friday, Dec. 14.
It is important to note Washington County is not listed under counties approved for transitional housing assistance and direct temporary housing. Also, the deadline to apply for Disaster Unemployment Assistance was Friday, Dec. 7.
