CHIPLEY – One Chipley woman who claimed to be the victim involved in an altercation was arrested for drugs when deputies responded to the physical disturbance call in the early morning of Nov. 22.

According to a news release from Washington County Sheriff's Office, while speaking about the situation, the alleged victim Teresa Ann Barrentine, 43, took deputies in the bedroom of the home on Lindsay Lane to show where the incident happened.

"Once in the bedroom, the deputy noticed a bowl on the dresser that contained methamphetamine," the release stated. "Deputies were then granted consent to search the area and located a hypodermic needle and a spoon that tested positive for methamphetamine in a dresser drawer."

Barrentine was arrested and transported to jail on the charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

In an unrelated drug case, 22-year-old Kimbre Riser, of Panama City, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance without a prescription on Nov. 26 after WCSO pulled the vehicle she was driving on Pate Pond Road.

Riser, who was driving with a suspended drivers license, appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance, the release stated.

"A search of the vehicle resulted in oxycodone, a controlled substance prescription medication, being located in an Advil bottle," the release stated.
