CHIPLEY -- Washington County School Board is one step closer to starting construction on two projects.
At a workshop Monday, the School Board assembled a design team to narrow down color selections for its new facilities and vowed to get input from groups that will use the new concessions stand.
The projects include the construction and renovations at the old Kate M. Smith property and Chipley High School football field. Although a construction start day has not been finalized, the projects, which are estimated to cost about $800,000, are slated to be complete by the end of June or early August.
The board scheduled a workshop for 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, at which it will finalize color selections made by the design team. Superintendent Joseph Taylor said he expects to have bid documents ready within the upcoming weeks following the workshop.
WCSB will hold its regular meeting at 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12 at the district's headquarters, 652 N. Third St.
