BONIFAY — A correctional officer was arrested Aug. 23 following a long-term investigation by the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) Office of Inspector General (OIG).

BONIFAY — A correctional officer was arrested Aug. 23 following a long-term investigation by the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) Office of Inspector General (OIG).

The arrest of 52-year-old Jeffrey Elmore was announced Friday. Elmore is charged with introduction of contraband into a prison facility, conspiracy to introduce contraband into a prison facility and unlawful compensation or reward for official behavior as a public servant.

Elmore was transported to Holmes County Jail following his arrest. The FDC Office of Inspector General acknowledges the cooperation and assistance provided by the Holmes  County Sheriff’s Office and the State Attorney’s Office in the 14th Judicial Circuit.
