MERRYanna mistletoe market

MARIANNA – The MERRYanna Mistletoe Market, will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, November 19 at the Agriculture Conference Complex on Penn Ave. The event will feature unique and hard to find gifts offered by local vendors. Tickets are $5 per person and will be sold at the door (children 10and under are free). For more information call 850-526-2232.

 

Christmas Tree Lighting

CHIPLEY - Washington County Council on Aging will have a Christmas Tree Lighting, at 5:30 p.m. December 1. There will be hot chocolate, coffee, Christmas goodies, Christmas music, and the colors of Christmas as the center lights its tree. For more information, call 850-638-6216.

 

Chipley Christmas Fest

CHIPLEY - The holiday season is upon us and the Chipley Christmas Fest will be held from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, December 2 in Downtown Chipley. This year’s event is presented by Tobacco Free Florida and Community South Credit Union. There will be pictures with Santa, inflatable’s, viewing of the Polar Express and the Holiday Stroll is also back this year along with free carriage rides through downtown. The lighted Christmas parade will begin at 6 p.m. with line up beginning at the Old Chipley High School Track at 5 p.m. For more information call 850-703-3656.

 

FUMC of Chipley Christmas Bazaar

CHIPLEY - The First United Methodist Church of Chipley will host its annual Christmas Bazaar from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, December 2. Find the perfect gift for giving or the final touch for your Christmas decor by browsing a wide variety of homemade gifts and crafts. Food will also be available, featuring a hot meal of either pulled pork sandwiches or Brunswick stew. Brunswick stew can also be purchased by the quart for $10 by calling the church office at 850-638-0010 to place an order. All proceeds from this event will benefit the church's Trustee Reserve Fund.

 

Breakfast with Santa

VERNON - Vernon Elementary School will host its annual PTO Santa Breakfast from 8-10 a.m. Saturday, December 3, in the VES lunchroom. Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door. Ticket prices are: Breakfast only, $3; Picture with Santa only, $3 or both breakfast and picture with Santa $5. For more details, contact the Vernon Elementary School office at 850-535-2486.

 

Cookies with Santa

PITTMAN - Pittman Volunteer Fire Department will host cookies with Santa at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 3 with a Christmas Parade from Keith Cabin to the Pittman Fire Station. They are also hosting a toy drive that ends Friday, December 3 for kids in the fire district who might not otherwise have a Christmas. Anyone who wants to donate toys can drop off toys at Miller's Grocery or Shawn's Grocery on Highway 2 in Holmes County. Christmas Celebration in the Park

BONIFAY - The City of Bonifay and Bonifay Fire & Rescue will host the annual Christmas Celebration in the Park at 6 p.m. Saturday, December 3, at Veterans Memorial Park. Santa will arrive at 6 p.m., and hot cocoa and hotdogs will be served free of charge. Ultimate Productions Company will provide the entertainment.

 

Jingle Bell Run 5K

CHIPLEY – The Northwest Florida Community Hospital Relay for Life Team will host a Jingle Bell Run 5K at 8 a.m. December 3. Registration is $30 on the day of the race. The race will start at the hospital. Prizes will be given to the top male and female in each age group and a trophy will be given for the overall best time. Sponsorships are available for $100 ad a business logo will be printed on the back of all t-shirts. If 10 or more members from a business sign up the sponsorship is free. Esto Christmas in the Park

ESTO - Santa is coming to town - to Esto, that is! Kids young and old are invited to have lunch with Santa at John Clark Park in Esto from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, December 3. Register for free prizes and enjoy fun and fellowship. The event is sponsored.

 

Polar Bear Express

BRISTOL - The Veterans Memorial Railroad will once again be running the Polar Bear Express, beginning Saturday, December 3. Trains depart from Tom Keenan Depot from 7-10 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Children 2 and under ride for free. Admission for all others is $8 for non-steam trains and $12 for steam trains. Dates are December 3, 8-10, 15-18, and 22, and 23. The steam train will be available on December 3, 9, 10, 16, 17, 22, and 23. The Veterans Memorial Railroad is located at 10561 NW Theo Jacobs Way in Bristol. A Chipola Christmas

MARIANNA—Tickets are on sale for “A Chipola Christmas,” set for 7 p.m. Thursday, December 8, in the Prough Center for the Arts. Presented by the Chipola music department under the direction of Angie White, Dr. Josh Martin, and Connie Smith, the show is the perfect start to the holiday season. The Chipola Show Choir and Music Ensembles, will present the large musical production with dazzling costumes and stage design. Winter Wonderland

BONIFAY - Live Oak Assembly of God will host the 6th annual Winder Wonderland, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Friday, December 9. In addition to a chili supper, guest will enjoy winter carnival games such as a snow ball throw, "Save the Penguins," ice fishing, and the "Frosty Snowball Toss." VERNON - The Vernon Pee Wee Cheerleaders will host a father daughter dance from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, December 9 at the Vernon Community Center. The theme is Winter Wonderland. The cost is $25 per family and includes dancing, DJ, dinner and a 4X6 photo. Registration is due at Vernon City Hall be Friday, December 2. 'A Tuna Christmas'

CHIPLEY - The Spanish Trail Playhouse will present "A Tuna Christmas" on December 9 and 10. In this hilarious sequel to "Greater Tuna", it's Christmas in the third smallest town in Texas. Radio station OKKK news personalities Thurston Wheelis and Arles Struvie report on various Yuletide activities, including hot competition in the annual lawn display contest. In other news, voracious Joe Bob Lipsey's production of "A Christmas Carol" is jeopardized by unpaid electric bills. Many colorful Tuna denizens, some you will recognize from "Greater Tuna," and some appearing for the first time, join in the holiday fun. A Tuna Christmas is a total delight for all seasons. This production stars Kevin Russell and Alex May. Tickets are $10. Showtimes are: 7 p.m. on December 9 and 9 p.m. on December 10. Red Hill UMC Christmas Bazaar

BONIFAY - Red Hill United Methodist Church will host its 3rd annual Christmas Bazaar starting at 7 a.m. Saturday, December 10. Lots of crafts, homemade baked goods, and cakes will be on hand to purchase as gifts or to enjoy yourself. The church will also be selling Boston Butts for $25.00 and ribs for $20. Front Porch Christmas with the Holmes County Historical Society

BONIFAY - Join the Holmes County Historical Society Museum on the front porch Saturday, December 10, from 5-7 p.m. for "A Front Porch Christmas." The event will feature activities for the children, a visit from an "olde saintly friend" and more. The museum will also be open for viewing. Make plans to join stop by for an evening of old fashion Christmas fun!

 

Wausau Christmas Parade

WAUSAU - The Town of Wausau will hold its annual Christmas parade at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 10. Anyone wishing to enter the parade is asked to contact Wausau Town Hall 850-638-1781. Santa will greet the children at the Possum Palace immediately following the parade. Refreshments will be served.

 

Vernon Pancake Breakfast and Christmas Parade

VERNON - The Vernon Fire Department will host a Pancake Breakfast from 6:30 to 10 a.m. at the fire station. Plates are $5 each with proceeds benefitting the fire department. Santa and kids' activities will also be available at Vernon City Square before and after the Vernon Christmas Parade which will begin at 1 p.m.

 

Kiwanis Pancake Supper

CHIPLEY - The Chipley Kiwanis Club will host its annual Pancake Supper at Kate M.Smith Elementary School Thursday, December 16. Carry-out will begin at 4:30 p.m., with dine-in at 5 p.m. Tickets are $5 each. The program is an annual fund raising effort, with proceeds going to help fund the Kiwanis' continued efforts to held local children.

 

'This is Christmas'

 BONIFAY - The Music Ministry of First Baptist Church of Bonifay will present 'This is Christmas' at 6 p.m. on Sunday, December 18. The program will feature the adult choir, children's choir, student choir, handbells, and ladies ensemble.
