Hundreds turn out to celebrate Labor Day weekend.
VERNON — The city of Vernon held Its postponed Fourth of July Celebration Saturday evening at the Sportsplex, drawing hundreds of people out to enjoy free food, music, and activities for the children. Entertainment for the evening was provided by performers from Gilley’s Family Opry and the food was provided by the city. Members of the Vernon High School JROTC and FFA programs volunteered to man the games for children.
The event was postponed from July 4 due to flooding.
