Week 7 Football Heroes (See Stories, Photos, Standings)
Here are the Week 7 Football Heroes:
Fidel Montgomery, Marianna: The Bulldogs ended a two-game losing streak thanks to an impressive performance from Montgomery. He notched 45 yards rushing and two touchdowns in the second quarter and also returned a fumble for a score for 60 yards in the first quarter. His efforts starter Marianna off, as they defeated Blountstown 42-24.
Preston Wilson and John Teal, Chipley: The impact of special teams can’t be overlooked. This Tigers’ duo led the surge to block a Tallahassee Maclay extra point with less than a minute to go to seal Chipley’s 14-13 Homecoming win. Click here for Homecoming photos.
Tyler Grier, Bozeman: Much of Bozeman’s current three-game winning streak can be attributed to a healthy offensive line. Grier, a senior running back, had benefited the most. He had 182 yards and two scores on 33 carries and also hauled in a 33-yard receiving TD in the Bucks’ 41-21 win over Holmes County.
Nick Smith, Rutherford: Cordarryl Rogers churned up all the big yards, but Smith gained important ones against county rival Bay. Smith had only 39 yards on the ground, but he scored TDs of 2 and 3, atoning for an earlier fumble in leading the Rams to a 25-14 victory over the Tornadoes.
