J.S. Jones Road Temporarily Closed

Chipley – J.S. Jones Road, in north Holmes County, will be closed to through traffic Monday, February 23, through Thursday 26, 2009 between 8 a.m. and 4p.m. daily as Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Geotechnical Asphalt Crews perform test near the timber bridge. A detour route has been identified and signs will be erected. MA Hodges Road has been designated as an alternate route for traffic south of the bridge heading north to SR 2. FDOT plans to replace the existing bridge in 2013.  A Consulting Engineering firm has been hired by the Department to design the roadway and bridge. No public meeting will be held on the project at this time.  However; a public meeting to present the project to the local residents will be scheduled at a later date.
