Baker outlasts Sneads in state volleyball semifinal

KISSIMMEE — Sneads fell short of a spot in the Rural Class 1A state volleyball championship match, as the Pirates were eliminated by Baker 25-12, 19-25, 22-25, 25-20, 15-12 in the semifinal.

Jordan Jackson led Sneads (18-8) with 26 kills and three blocks. Rebbecca Aaron had 39 assists, 20 digs and three kills, Emily Jones 27 digs and four aces and Brandy Strickland 21 digs and two kills for the Pirates.

Baker (16-3) advanced to play Mayo Lafayette in today’s state title match. Lafayette beat Crescent City 25-14, 20-25, 25-23, 27-25 in the other semifinal.
