Chipley man escapes injury in fatal wreck

A Chipley man was involved in a fatal accident in Gadsden County. Elmer Cyree, 78, was not injured in the wreck according to Florida Highway Patrol.
FHP reports that Cyree in a 2000 Chevrolet truck was traveling eastbound on Interstate 10 just east of County Road 270 when he was struck from behind by another vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle overcorrected, lost control and struck a tree. He died as result of his injuries.
Cyree was wearing his seatbelt and alcohol was not involved on his part. The other driver has not been identified pending notification of next of kin.
