Road needs maintenance
It comes in life when the old saying goes When The Fat Lady Sings It's Over and the fat lady song today
My name is Edward Scott Elder and I live at 198 Champion Drive Chipley Florida 32428. Even though my address reflects Chipley I live in what is called North Quail Hollow way in the back of Buckhorn Creek. Our what you call subdivisions is is a unrecorded Plat the Plat was made to the best of my knowledge in the early 1990's when most of all the Tracts where sold the roads where stop being maintain by the owner until 1998 when the County of Washington started to take them over , ever road was taken over but my road I have tryed in the past to have something done not for the sake of the road but for the Safety of the people who live on the road but the County still declines to do anything for it's PRIVATE.
If that is the reason they why can the Commissioner of District 4 go out and FIX three pieces of PRIVATE PROPERTY at my and other tax payers expense one was on Ledger Road one was one Orange Hill Road and now on Pine Oaks Lane. All of these property's where done after the fact that one of our Commissioner was shone for fixing a driveway which the BOCC agreed not to do this again without consent from all the other Commissioners first which I believe it is in the minutes of one of there meetings.We where told by the U.S.P.S , UPS , Fedex and Waste Management the condition of our road would be damaging to there vehicles and safety to there drivers and our road is undeliverable when our electric company comes out to repair poles or lines they get stuck and tear up the road our fire company trucks will get stuck if they go down our road what will happen if I need EVAC for my wife who has a heart condition will she DIED ? if I was leaving because of a wild fire and if the fire company and the Department of Forestry where coming down the road one of us would have to back up to let one in or out.
About three years ago I had a Commissioner come out to look at my road he did help us it took 7 yes 7 dump truck loads of fill to fill in three holes in the first 1/8 of a mile of my road.And here is my last comment if the Sheriff or fire company or EVAC can not get to me or my neighbors and one is a 63 year old women who then is responsible for our SAFETY of us or PROPERTY if nobody can get to us.

| I'll quote another old saying too- You get what you pay for. In this case I am referring to Washington County electing Eddie Holman as a County Commissioner. The residents elected him and , well, we got what we "paid" for. I don't think too many people did any research on him to see what his qualifications were or anything. He was just a dump truck driver with zero leadership experience and zero administrative experience and zero policy making experience. Yes, many people knew him and thought he would be a good Commissioner without thinking it all the way thru. You can't buy much these days with a bunch of ZERO'S! |

| Isn't it odd that particular Commissioner will see to it that any and everyone has as much dirt as they want IF they will vote for him but when a road needs repair, it's a HUGE ordeal and it doesn't get done? |

| yes the county needs to fix and mantain those roads up there,and the sherriff depart. needs to do there jobs also, instead of messing with people that are trying to help other people out there. |

| Thank You Mr Thompson for your comment I would like to hear more even if they go against my issue like I said all the roads were I live were Private at one time and if they would have done mine when they started with the other roads I could of fallen back to Florida Statue 95 361 like I said it is not for the sake of the road it is the Safety of my Family and Neighbors that I care about And if anybody really wants to know why the fat lady song Commissioner Holman used almost 9000 of my Tax Dollars and he tells me for 75 dollars a hour he will fix my road |

| Just another example of how screwed up government is. One big responsibility of government is safety of its constituents. Unfortunately for Mr. Elder and his neighbors commissioners are doing driveways for friends and political allies to gain votes for the next election. We need new people to run for office and some people need to go back to driving dump trucks. |
