Roundup: Mosley scores at will in opening victory
Graceville also victorious
MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Mosley quarterback Chase Graves completed only three passes, but all went for touchdowns to three different receivers as the Dolphins overwhelmed Jefferson Davis 56-31 Friday night to win their season opener.
Mosley's trademark running game also was prominent as the Dolphins built a 28-3 lead by halftime and won easily. Running back Justin Broxton had three touchdown runs and Tristen McCathern and Sam Bland each scored once.
Adam Abrams, Eddie Williams and Jimmy Philips were on the receiving end of Graves' TD passes.
"I thought the offensive line blocked extremely well," Mosley coach Perry Brown said. "The backs were running hard, and of course the three touchdown passes shook them up a little bit.
"The defense played well. We kind of let up in the second half and it went back and forth for awhile."
Defensively Mosley's Williams, only a freshman, also added his first career interception. Defensive coordinator Danny Nagy said that Jarod Lee led the unit and that sophomore Dillon Black played well at linebacker.
