SAND HILLS — This probably wasn’t the way the Mosley girls soccer team expected to celebrate its senior night.

Unable to locate a second referee to officiate the game, Mosley and Bay canceled their non-district soccer matchup at Bucks Field on Thursday night. It was an unfortunate development for two high-caliber teams preparing for their respective district tournaments.

“This was possibly the last opportunity to play in front of their parents and fans,” Mosley coach Marek Betkowski said of his seniors. “I strongly believe we’ll be back in Panama City and playing this season. This game has been scheduled for a long time, and the girls deserved to have two refs here.”

The two teams are the best in the county. Mosley is 13-1-2 this season, and Bay is 15-2-1.
