‘Living in bear country' guest lecture Sept. 13


The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) and the Florida Trail Association will host a lecture on living safely with bears Monday, Sept. 13, from 7-8 p.m. (CDT).

The event will take place at the Palms Conference Center, 9129 Front Beach Rd., Panama City Beach. It will include showing the FWC’s new 15-minute DVD, “Living with Florida Black Bears.”

FWC wildlife biologist Alan Knothe will be on hand to answer questions about bears and suggest ways to reduce problems and increase enjoyment of local wildlife.

The talk is free and open to the public.
