Schaubhut, Kern CHS Earl Sellers winners

Zach Schaubhut and Vanessa Kern were awarded the Washington County News Earl Sellers scholar-athlete award for Chipley high School Friday night at the annual Chipley High Sports Banquet. Kern was unable to attend the banquet and her award was presented at CHS Monday.

The Earl Sellers Memorial Award is presented each year by the Washington County News in memory of Earl Sellers. Sellers was the founding publisher of the News. The award honors outstanding athletes at each county high school.

This award is given each spring to the all-around student-athletes, male and female, that best demonstrate the combination of excellence in sports, academics, character and citizenship. Just about every time, selection of the winner is very difficult, since each school has several students in close contention.
