Wewa's Jones picked up by Pirates
Former Wewahitchka standout Brandon Jones was claimed off waivers by the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday, just one week after begin designated for assignment by the Atlanta Braves.
With Atlanta, Jones appeared in 51 games between 2007 and 2009, compiling a .257 batting average with one home run and 22 RBI. He spent most of the 2009 season with Triple-A Gwinnett, where he batted .281 with seven home runs and 57 RBIs in 107 games.
Several internet sources report that the Pirates may try to trade Jones.

I thought the exact same thing. I wish our schools would get the credit they deserve. They should rename it the Washington County Paper.

50 cents. Ya get whatcha pay for. I do agree that the headline was misleading, but this is not the only mistake this paper makes. It seems we here in Holmes County are always on the outside of our own paper looking in. It's not Holmes Counties advertiser anymore. How many remember the time when our paper was filled with news from around our county? I wish we had more pictures and articles about us!

I agree, that was the first thing that I noticed. I had heard Holmes won but seen Chipley's picture on the front page. I think that the paper has a problem with all Bonifay schools.
