SAND HILLS — Bay couldn’t convert a winning shot at the end of regulation, but outscored Bozeman in overtime to post a 58-56 win Thursday in boys high school basketball.
The Tornadoes, 9-14, got 12 points from Alton Mills and 10 from freshman Corey Brown. For Bozeman, 14-11, Cameron Waddell had a season-high 16 points and Ben Adams had 15.
Rutherford 53, Niceville 28
SPRINGFIELD — Rutherford overpowered a depleted Niceville squad as Khaliel Spearman scored 17 points and Jai Jencks had 15. The Rams, 19-4, are idle until a semifinal appearance in the District 1-5A tournament they host next week.
Rutherford won the JV game 77-53 as Josh Wade had 15 points, Fester Little 12 and Tyson Hills 10.
Chipley 71, Rickards 64
CHIPLEY — Chipley won a rematch of last year’s region championship game as Cameron Dozier had 23 points, Kobe McCreary 17 and Alex Hamilton 14. Rickards defeated Chipley last February en route to the state title.
The Tigers improved to 19-3 with their 17th consecutive win. They play at Enterprise (Ala.) tonight.
Softball
Bay will be participating in the Lady Bulldog PreSeason Classic in Marianna on Saturday. The Lady Tornadoes will play Vernon at 1 p.m. and Marianna at 3 p.m.

Maclay 2, Franklin County 0
TALLAHASSEE — Maclay continued its Region 1-1A run with a win that eliminated the visiting Franklin County Seahawks. The Marauders will host Lafayette Mayo tonight in a region semifinal. The Seahawks reached the regional in just their second season in FHSAA district play and the fourth year overall of the program.
