Week 8 Football Heroes (See Stories, Photos, Standings)
Here are the Week 8 Football Heroes:
Jomar Concepcion, Holmes County: The senior quarterback again carried the Blue Devils. He rushed for three touchdowns, had a 91-yard kickoff return and brought back an interception 77 yards for another score in Holmes County’s 35-28 win over Baker.
Johnny Watford, Chipley: Watford wasn’t his team’s leading rusher, but he did have 140 yards on the ground in an emotional game for former Marianna coach Rob Armstrong. Watford also scored on runs of 5, 66 and 10 yards (the final score) in Chipley’s 49-42 win over Marianna.
Princeton Grant, Blountstown: Grant rushed for a team-high 76 yards, but it was his late touchdown that gave Blountstown a 20-14 victory Port St. Joe. The Tigers now control their own destiny for the District 2-1A title.
Evan Davis, Cottondale: Rocky Bayou Christian was overmatched from the start, but Davis led the Hornets with 101 yards and two touchdowns. The Hornets earned their first win by beating Rocky Bayou 56-16.
