Regional girls soccer: Bay falls, Franklin County advances

CRAWFORDVILLE — Bay led by two goals in the first 13 minutes of the match, but it couldn’t hold onto the lead and was eliminated by Wakulla 3-2 in the Region 1-2A girls soccer regional quarterfinal on Tuesday.

Sarah Judah and Laura Valcourt scored goals for Bay, with assists from each. The Tornadoes finished 14-8-1.

Franklin County 3, Hamilton County 1

EASTPOINT — Megan Newell scored two goals to help Franklin County advance to the regional semifinal. Jessica Shields notched the Seahawks’ other goal on an assist by Newell. Shields and Katie Seger had assists and goalkeeper Macey Hunt stopped 19 shots.

Franklin County (12-5-3) hosts Tallahassee Maclay on Friday.
