Prep roundup (March 20): Bozeman sweeps track meet
SAND HILLS - Host Bozeman teams downed Sneads and Cottondale Thursday in a District 1-1A track and field meet.
Bozeman's boys won with 76 points to 61 for Sneads and 17 for Cottondale. Bozeman's girls had 60 points, Cottondale 43 and Sneads 32.
Bozeman travels to Wewahitchka for another district meet next Thursday.

TALLAHASSEE
Sophomore Chris Burkett hit a three-run home run and J.B. Smith added a two-run homer as Rutherford won its sixth straight in a District 2-5A game. The Rams improved to 8-3, 4-2.
Blake Norred was the winning pitcher and is 4-1. Norred pitched six innings with Michael Harrington earning a save after coming on in the seventh inning.
Smith was 2 for 4, Harrington was 3 for 4 with a double and an RBI, Stetson Rich was 2 for 4 and Brian Oglesby added two hits with an RBI and a double.
Rutherford hosts Troy (Ala.) tonight at 6 p.m.
Bozeman 10-13, Cottondale 1-5
SAND HILLS
Will Humphreys allowed one hit in a five-inning 10-1 run-rule game in the opener and Dustin Duncan struck out eight in four innings of the nightcap as the Bucks improved to 10-0.
In the opener, Jace Wade was 2 for 2, Mason Bennett had a single and double and Corey Nelson had a triple. In Game 2, Duncan opened the scoring with a solo homer to center field and Bennett was 3 for 4 with three runs, two RBIs and a double. Trey Register also doubled.
Paul Myers pitched in both games amassing three innings of scoreless relief.
Bozeman, ranked No. 4 in the state, entertains No. 9 Altha 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
PSJ 11, West Gadsden 1
PORT ST. JOE
Jamie Bird was the winning pitcher with three hitless innings as the Tiger Sharks improved to 7-7. Robbie Martin had two doubles and scored two runs, Chris Cochran had a single, three RBIs and scored a run, Matt Wright had a single, double and two RBIs and Tyrone Dawson was 2 for 3.
Port St. Joe plays at Sneads 6 p.m. CST Monday.

PANAMA CITY
Bay's boys team went above .500 at 4-3 with a 5-2 win and the girls (2-6) won for the second time with a 6-1 triumph.
Bay teams hosts Penacola on Tuesday.

MARIANNA
Crystal Thompson had three hits, including a home run, and drove in three runs as Holmes County beat Marianna in a District 2-3A game.
Sierra Jackson had two hits and two RBIs, and Jenna Belser had two hits. Winning pitcher Mary Elizabeth Pippin tossed a complete game, allowing three hits and no walks, while striking out six.
Holmes County (13-2, 3-0 district) is at home today against Freeport, with a junior varsity game at 3 p.m. and varsity at 6 p.m.
Blountstown 5, Sneads 4
SNEADS
Blountstown scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning to break a 3-3 tie in a District 2-2A game. Molly Fagan drove in the go-ahead run with a double and scored what turned out to be the winning run for the Lady Tigers, 11-5 and 4-1 in district.
Kaitlin Peacock was the winning pitcher to improve to 9-4.
Blountstown hosts Franklin County 5 p.m. today.
Boys weightlifting
Mosley advances five
CRESTVIEW
Mosley advanced five weightlifers to the sectional meet off their finish in the top three of their respective weight classes.
Justin Broxton won in the 183-pound class with a 335-pound bench press and 315-pound clean and jerk for a total of 650 and heavyweight Matt Morrisey won with 430-315, 745.
Placing second for the Dolphins was Patrick Bane at 238 with 330-295, 625. Justin Nguyen (190-155 345) at 119 and Matt Peairs (215-205, 420) at 139 each placed third.
