Tornadoes send 10 athletes to Class 2A State track meet

Ten Bay track and field athletes qualified in six events for Saturday’s Class 2A FHSAA Finals at Showalter Field in Winter Park.

Gabe Holguin is the only Tornado to qualify in more than one event, having made the field for the 1,600 meters and the 800 as well as the 4x400 relay. He also is the only Bay athlete to enter the state meet as a regional champion, as he claimed the 800 in the Region 1-2A meet on Friday.

Arnold, Bozeman and Rutherford did not qualify any runners for the state meet in Class 2A.

In District 2-3A, Mosley did not have any athletes qualify for the Region 1-3A meet. Four Dolphins and a Mosley relay finished fifth in their respective races, but only the Top 4 in each event qualify for regions.
