Bethlehem 65, Altha 60

ALTHA — The Bethlehem Wildcats tipped the host Altha Wildcats basketball team by a final score of 65-60 in Monday's non-league game. Zach Lee led Bethlehem with 24 points and Reid Hatcher scored 10. Will Rogers had 23 for Altha. In their next game, the Wildcats face the Laurel Hill Hoboes in a 1A District 1 game, on Thursday, January 28. Bethlehem will attempt to move on its 6-9 season record.

 

Poplar Springs 65, Vernon 54

POPLAR SPRINGS — The Atomics went to 9-10 for the season with a win over visting Vernon.

 

Pensacola Catholic 51, Chipley 39

CHIPLEY — Visiting Pensacola Catholic jumped out to a 27-16 halftime lead and held off Chipley Tuesday night.

Catholic was led by Perry Spillar with 11 points and Shaun White with 13 Chipley was led by Ryan Brigham with 15 points and Josh Myers with 11.

 

Bozeman 34, Vernon 27

SAND HILLS — Nick Gutierrez had 12 points and Chase Walker eight as the Bucks improved to 4-16 on Senior Night.

 

Sneads 71, Graceville 68

SNEADS — The Sneads Pirates went to 14-8 on the season and beat Graceville 71-68 Tuesday night. Terrance Green led the Pirates with 17 points, with Josh Rogers and John Locke adding 14, and Jamar White scoring 11.

Graceville fell to 12-6 (10-3 district). Cameron Dozier led Graceville with 18 points, with Byron Laster scoring 15, C.J. Dozier 13, and Kevin Potts 10.

 

Cottondale 76, South Walton 53.

COTTONDALE — The Cottondale Hornets went to 13-9 (11-3 district)

Marcus Humose scored 31 points to lead the Hornets, with Jeremy Glover adding 12, and Juwon Johnson 11.

Dylan Smith led South Walton with 17 points, while Schafer Martin and Shane Seeger each scored 10.

 

Girls

Ponce de Leon 45, Bethlehem 41

PONCE DE LEON — The Ponce De Leon Lady Pirates held off visiting Bethlehem by a score of 45-41 Monday. With the victory, Ponce De Leon improves its record to 20-3. Hillary Harper had 17 points and Sha-lea Yates added 10.

 

Ponce de Leon 44, Holmes County 41

BONIFAY — Ponce de Leon’s Hillary Harper scored 17 points and Sha-lea Yates had 12 as the Pirates defeated Holmes County.

Shelby Clark led Holmes County with nine points, Hannah Pippin had eight points and seven rebounds and Macy Miles added seven points, four rebounds and four assists.

 

South Walton 41, Cottondale 40

COTTONDALE — The Cottondale lady Hornets fell just short as they were edged by South Walton 41-40 at the buzzer. Shay Wright finished with 24 points to lead CHS, with Jakia Grimsley adding 12. South Walton is undefeated in district.
