State track: Bay girls 4x400 fourth; Arnold boys 4x400 10th

WINTER PARK — Bay’s 4x400 girls relay team placed fourth for the best area finish Saturday in the Class 2A state track and field meet.

Mykeese Edwards, Kayla Cramer, Alexis Goodine and Diamond Oliver were timed in 4 minutes, .07 seconds. They finished .01 out of third place while earning five team points.

The only other Tornado to score in the meet was discus thrower Anissa Martin, who placed eighth with a toss of 103 feet, 8 inches.

Arnold’s 4x400 boys relay paced area efforts in that division with a 10th-place finish. The quartet of Andre Allen, Chancellor Mason, Stacey Otias and Eddie Williams was timed in 3:25.42.

Also for Bay, the girls 4x100 relay of Edwards, Cramer, Kianna Patton and Na’Kiya Russell was 12th in 49.36 and Thomas Williams was 12th in the boys discus with 141-1. Tia Bass of Marianna was the only other area performer. She was 14th in the shot put with 32-3.
