BOISE — Boise scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth to defeat Eugene 8-5 Thursday night.
The Emeralds lost their fourth straight game and 11th in 13 games to fall to 7-14 on the Northwest League baseball season.
Boise (12-9) scored an unearned run off Eugene starter Faustino Carrera in the first inning before the Emeralds scored three in the top of the fourth.
Luis Diaz singled and went to second on an error before Nelson Velazquez singled him to third. Christopher Morel hit a double to score Diaz before Velazquez scored on a wild pitch.
Tyler Durna grounded out on a play that scored Morel to put Eugene ahead 3-1.
The Hawks scored a run in the fourth and added four off reliever Casey Ryan in the fifth inning, including a two-run homer by Daniel Jipping.
The Hawks added a run in the seventh and eighth innings.
Diaz had two hits for Eugene.
