The Register-Guard has had a history of very liberal reporting for forever. This includes the printing of more than seems a logical number of guest viewpoints by a repeated few authors that are so left-leaning and not well enough thought out to be truly logical discourses.

To print two of these kinds of pieces in two days by the same authors, Ed Whitelaw and Winston Hovekamp, seems like too much. Yes, Whitelaw has professorial credentials from the University of Oregon, yet he cites suspect sources of information ripping the Oregon Department of Forestry and the Oregon Forest Resources Institute as shills of the forest industry when this could not be further from the truth.

Perhaps the new R-G owners should look over what it is that the newspaper prints — or take a ride to the woods with a forester to see the real world.
