Work Progresses on SR 277 Resurfacing Project

Chipley – Work on State Road 277 continues to progress. Crews from Anderson Columbia are completing resurfacing and widening from I-10 to US 90 along with side street and driveway connections.  Crews are also performing shoulder work from Clayton Road south toward Vernon.

This work is part of the 14-mile milling and resurfacing project on SR 277 which runs from SR 79 in Vernon to US 90 in Chipley. The project also includes a turn lane at Shiloh Baptist Church, drainage and safety improvements, guardrail installation, 5-foot paved shoulders, and placement of new signs and pavement markings

Motorists will encounter daytime lane closures.  Speed limits will be reduced during construction activities and motorists should be aware that speeding fines are double when workers are present. The $5-million improvement project is expected to be complete next month.
