Marianna woman killed in crash

CALHOUN COUNTY — A Marianna woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash about 12:30 p.m. Sunday. According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, Alice F. Yates, 81, of Marianna pulled a 1999 Dodge into the path of a Mitsubishi sport utility vehicle being driven by Jermaine K. Battles, 37, of Blountstown.

Battles and his passenger, William K. Simmons, 43, also of Blountstown, were transported to Bay Medical Cen-ter. According to Bay Medical Center, Battles was treated and released. Simmons was listed as “still being evalu-ated” Sunday night.

According to FHP, charges are pending further investigation.
