Meth lab bust in Washington County

EBRO – Washington County deputies have two people in custody after an apparent methamphetamine lab was discovered in Ebro. The information was provided by Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

On Tuesday investigators obtained a search warrant for 5436 Subdivision Road in Ebro following undercover purchase of methamphetamine at that address and other information.

Upon entry into the residence officers found Bob Morrell, 42, Patricia Montgomery of Cottondale, 24, and a three-year-old child. A search of the residence turned up a variety of listed chemicals, ephedrine (the base for methamphetamine), camp fuel, and a gas generator.

There was also about a quarter-pound of marijuana, meth pipes and syringes. In the freezer there was a Mason jar with ephedrine and chemical pill wash. A search of the kitchen turned up several containers wit evidence of iodine crystal involved in manufacture of methamphetamine.

Several firearms were also found, and a computer check revealed that Morell is a convicted felon from Georgia.

Morrell and Montgomery were taken to Washington County Jail and the child was placed with a grandparent by Department of Children and Families.

Montgomery is charged with cruelty toward a child that could result in physical or mental injury, a third-degree felon, as well as being recommitted for possession of methamphetamine and possession of controlled substance without a prescription.

Morrell is charged with possession of weapons or ammunition by a convicted felon, cruelty toward a child that could result in physical or mental injury, distribution of marijuana, possession of narcotics equipment and/or use, and possession of listed chemicals for manufacture of a controlled substance.
