BCF to Celebrate Constitution Day
|
GRACEVILLE – Students and faculty at The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) will be celebrating the 222nd anniversary of the U.S. Constitution that was signed on September 17, 1787 prior to its ratification by the states. Constitution Day is observed at BCF as a time of remembrance and tribute to the men and women who made such tremendous sacrifices for the cause of unity and freedom. The Baptist College of Florida highlights the accomplishments of the past and incorporates the lessons learned into making a difference in the future. This year on September 17, in commemoration of Constitution Day, students in the American History class will be passing out copies of the U.S. Constitution in the BCF Student Center. There will also be a replica of the original Constitutional document displayed in the common area. “The Constitution is the foundational document of our nation," stated BCF History Professor Roger Richards. "It guarantees not only our rights, but our responsibilities as citizens of this great nation. Understanding those rights and responsibilities allows us to serve more effectively as citizens.” |
