DeFuniak Springs man discovers marijuana crop in backyard

DeFUNIAK SPRINGS —A Walton County man discovered an illegal crop of marijuana growing in his backyard Tuesday night.

Sam Adams called Sheriff's deputies when he found five marijuana plants growing in a heavily wooded area of his property on Kings Lake Boulevard.

According to a press release from the Walton County Sheriff's Office, the plants were being "carefully cultivated and watered."

The Sheriff's Office will continue to investigate the planting of the illegal crop, the release said.

Police estimate the value of the plants at $250,000 and have arrested the land owner. 'Just in case' Said deputy Doughnut. Plus this comment system cant handle an 'at' symbol.
