Changes in speed limit on two Chipley streets

The speed limit for 5th Street between Old Bonifay Road and (Main St.) S.R.77 is currently 30 MPH.  The speed limit will be reduced to 25 MPH for this section of 5th Street.  The speed limit on 3rd Street between (Jackson Avenue) U.S.90 and South Blvd. is currently 30 MPH. The speed limit will be reduced to 25 MPH for this section of 3rd Street.  The change will become effective as soon as the new speed limit signs are installed.  We are experiencing a higher traffic volume on these and other Chipley streets during certain times of the day due to the congestion of S.R.77.  Please obey the speed limit on all residential streets in the city. The Chipley Police Department will be patrolling extra on all residential streets and strictly enforcing the speed limits.
