FDOT to Hold Public Information Meeting on bridge replacement on Farrell Nelson Road
Chipley - The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a Public Information Meeting regarding the proposed bridge replacement project along Farrell Nelson Road. The meeting will be held Tuesday, March 23, 2010 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Orange Hill Volunteer Fire Department located at 1927 Orange Hill Highway. The purpose of this meeting is to afford interested persons an opportunity to express their views concerning the proposed project.
Proposed improvements include replacement of the existing wooden bridge over Flat Creek with a new 52 foot long concrete bridge culvert. Constructing the new concrete culvert and minor drainage improvements will require additional right-of-way. In addition to the culvert, approximately 214 feet of roadway will be improved. The road will be closed during construction. A detour route has been identified for local traffic. The project is currently schedule for a May 2012 letting.
Maps, drawings and other information will be on display. FDOT representatives will be available to explain the improvements and answer questions. There will not be a formal presentation or public testimony period. Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability of family status.
