Sidewalk projects set to begin in Holmes County cities

BONIFAY - The small Panhandle towns of Noma and Esto will soon be getting a facelift thanks to funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has awarded contracts to GAC Contractor of Panama City to construct a sidewalk along CR 175 from Skipper Avenue to west of White Street in Noma at a construction cost of $24,000.

The firm will also build a sidewalk along SR 79 in Esto from North Joy Meadows Circle to First Avenue South. The cost is $48,000. Weather permitting both projects will be complete within the next two to three months.

A sidewalk project for the city of Bonifay, also funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act is nearing completion.
