Chipley volleyball season underway
The Chipley High School Lady Tigers volleyball season is in full swing. The regular season opened Monday in Bonifay and the Tigers rolled to victory in 3 straight sets by scores of 25-23, 25-15, 25-21. Ashley Ayers had 7 kills, Lacey Mead had 6 digs, and Erin Solger had 4 kills and 11 service points to lead the Tigers.
Tuesday found the Tigers travelling to Niceville to take on Rocky Bayou. In a tough match, the Tigers went down in defeat to a very good Rocky Bayou team by scores of 18-25, 23-25, 27-25, and 23-25. Leading the way for the Tigers were Hadley Harris with 8 kills, Erin Solger and Lacy Mead with 9 digs each, Chelsea Carter with 6 digs and 9 service points, Sara Kaye Compton with 5 digs, and Ashley Ayers with 11 service points.
Thursday found the Tigers back in Holmes County to take on the home standing Bethlehem Lady Wildcats. The Tigers got back in the victory column by downing the Wildcats by scores of 25-16, 25-14, and 26-24. Sara Kaye Compton had 5 digs and Hadley Harris had 5 kills to lead the Tigers
In JV action, the Lady Tigers fell to Holmes County and defeated Bethlehem
Next up for Chipley will be Rutherford next Thursday, September 9, in Panama City. JV match will start at 4:30 with the varsity match to follow. Next home action will be the Chipley Invitational Tournament on September 11 in the CHS gym and the Roulhac gym. Action will get underway at 8:00 AM and will continue all day. A total of 12 schools will be participating.
