CHIPLEY — The Chipley High School Marching Band performed its final home game performance Oct. 26 at Philip Rountree Stadium.

The band traveled to Alabama in September to participate in the 27th Annual Daleville Invitational Band Classic.

They presented their marching show “The Sound of Music” and despite having to perform in the pouring rain still managed to score straight Superior marks.

The band, drum major and guard all received Superiors for their performances.  Twenty-five bands from across Florida and Alabama converged on Daleville to participate in the long-running classic.

Anyone who attended  the CHS football games has been lucky enough to witness the “Spirit of the Tiger” marching band performing during halftime. The show this year included selections from the movie The Sound of Music. “The Sound of Music,” “Edelweiss,” “Maria” and “Do-Re-Mi” are a few of the songs with which the band regaled the audience.
