Sales tax holiday

Florida’s back-to-school sales tax holiday began Friday, August 13, and ends at midnight Sunday, August 15. During this period, no sales tax will be collected on sales of books, clothing, footwear, and certain accessories selling for $50 or less, or on certain school supplies selling for $10 or less.

VERNON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

First Grade: First grade will have open house on Friday, August 20 from 8:30-10:00 a.m.
Each student will need to bring $35 (cash only) to Open House for school supplies. This supply money is used to purchase school supplies for the school year including crayons, colored pencils, scissors, pencils, erasers, glue, folders, red checking pens, journals, notebook paper, wet wipes, Kleenex, Germ-X, resalable Bags, and dry erase markers.
This supply money also includes the school bag and class T-shirt printed with “Sailing through the first grade at Ponce de Leon Elementary.”
Do not buy a backpack or zipper binder of any kind. We will use our special school bags only. Please no other types of notebooks, composition books, pencil boxes or crayon boxes of any type. No roller backpacks.
