Ranson declares for Congress

Local business, legal and civic leader Charlie Ranson (Republican) announced today that he’s filing to run for Congress from Florida’s 2nd Congressional District.  The campaign today posted Ranson’s announcement on the internet (www.charlieranson.com), containing key elements of Ranson’s personal and professional background, conservative principles and ideology, and reasons for running.

Ranson is a graduate of Eckerd College. Ranson earned his law degree from the Florida State University School of Law, and his Masters in Public Administration from Harvard University.

Professionally, Ranson has served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Florida Attorney General’s Office; staff director for regulatory reform in the Florida House; executive director of Florida TaxWatch’s Center for a Competitive Florida; vice chairman of the Florida International Affairs Commission; and in private legal and business practice.

The father of three children, Charlie Ranson lives with his wife, Dr. Sheryl Ranson, in Tallahassee.
