Keyes sues to obtain Obama citizenship proof

Presidential candidate Alan Keyes, AIP leaders sue in CA court to obtain Obama citizenship proof, stop Secretary of State from certifying Electors

Presidential candidate Alan Keyes, vice-presidential candidate Wiley S. Drake, and the Chairman of the American Independent Party, Markham Robinson, have filed suit in California Superior Court in Sacramento seeking to bar Secretary of State Debra Bowen from certifying to Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger the names of Electors, and from transmitting to each presidential Elector a Certificate of Election, until documentary proof is produced and verified showing that Senator Obama is a “natural born” citizen of the United States, and does not hold citizenship of Indonesia, Kenya or Great Britain.

In addition, they have asked that the court issue a peremptory writ barring Senator Obama’s California Electors from signing the Certificate of Vote until such documentary proof is produced and verified.

In response to questions about why the suit was being filed, Ambassador Keyes commented, “I and others are concerned that this issue be properly investigated and decided before Senator Obama takes office.  Otherwise there will be a serious doubt as to the legitimacy of his tenure. This doubt would also affect the respect people have for the Constitution as the supreme law of the land. I hope the issue can be quickly clarified so that the new President can take office under no shadow of doubt.  This will be good for him and for the nation.”

Former Reagan administration official Ambassador Alan Keyes and Wiley S. Drake were the 2008 presidential and vice-presidential nominees of the American Independent Party, which is the California affiliate of the new national America’s Independent Party.

Mission Viejo, California attorney Dr. Orly Taitz and United Justice Foundation Executive Director Gary Kreep are representing the plaintiffs in this case.

Copies of the court filing, along with further information concerning developments in this case, will be made available at http://www.AIPNEWS.com, or can be obtained by contacting AIP national chairman Tom Hoefling.

Well, I do not think I EVER said I had a problem with Obama being president. I have a problem with the fact that he can not provide citizenship proof. AND yes they Would let him run for President without it. This has been an issue throughtout the entire campaign. Not just now. Did I vote for Obama. NO. But it was because I do not agree with his stance on key issues. I find it amazing that people have to tear people down for for standing for what they believe. I may be a "small town" girl, but I still have my vote and the freedom to voice my opinion. Do I care if the people in DC make fun of small town people. Nope. They do not know me. But I will continue to vote as my convictions lead me. Instead of putting me down for being "small town" or a Republican why don't you address the issues. Oh and the Uncle that is the politican in DC should remember that the small town America votes AND there are a LOT of small towns across this country.

We are all being taken advantage of, and a fool being made out of all of us! I dont understand what is so hard about finding a birth certificate. Unless you DONT HAVE ONE! The worst part of when it is brought out into the open that he was not born here is that everyone who voted for this man will be screaming that its racial. What a shame.

I AM a republican, but far from being wealthy. I am a single mother that believes in working for what I get. I have voted for a Democrat for President. You I vote for the candidate that aligns with my personal beliefs. Not the color of their skin nor the party they represent. Just on the issues that are important to me. I would challenge you people to get the facts before showing your ignorance out here on the web. Obama is very wealthy. Matter of fact the Democratic leaders of our country are just as wealthy as the Republican leaders. Obama grew up in private schools and had all the advantages that money could buy. He does not know what it is like to struggle to eat or put a roof over his head. So by attacking someone for having these advantages your are in essence attacking our new President as well and his lifestyle. All the name calling that Move ON is doing is not accomplishing anything, but showing their ignorance. Oh, and I left a nice healthy salary in a major city to return to Holmes County to raise my child. So no money is not everything to this Republican. I have given up alot of my luxuries to do the right thing. So call me whatever you want, but I still remain a Republican.

There is nothing in the articles of confederation, constitution, or the bible that says one race of people should be leaders of the USA all the time.

The race is over. Obama won and it is nothing you can do about it. The man is president. No more issues please. Stop hating and get a life, since yall got money and you all are big time republicans. Theres no money in holmes or washignton county to be considered republicans.

Isn't funny that if anyone challenges anything to do with Obama they are racist? Please dear GOD get some sense, "Please move ON"! This is ridiculous. IF he cannot prove it then he did not need to run. He is hiding something. Plain and simple.

Actually "please move on", someone did question McCain's citizenship. Even though he didn't have to, he produced his birth certificate to the court. Why won't Obama produce his?

I'm afraid Claire-France is right. The establishment cares not for real documents. Obama is being a good go---boy and picking all the right people like Rahm-bo Israel Emanuel as his Chief of Staff. Ben Gurion would be proud!

The courts will have no power in this issue. Only the Senate will be able to make this choice. Is there anyone in the Senate who wants to take up this issue? No? That means they have accepted the birth certificate as the de facto qualifier and this lawsuit is a waste of everyone's time.
